Energietransitie is een actueel thema, dat onder andere inhoudt dat de CO₂ uitstoot gereduceerd moet worden door van fossiele brandstoffen (steenkool, olie en aardgas) over te stappen op ‘renewables’. Een belangrijk inzicht is dat wij, als aardgas generatie, verantwoordelijk zijn om op korte termijn over te gaan op andere energiebronnen. Windmolens en zonnepanelen gaan hierin een belangrijke bijdrage leveren. Bij deze bronnen is de match tussen vraag en aanbod de uitdaging. Want wat te doen bij overcapaciteit? Met de mogelijkheden om deze energie op te slaan wordt volop geëxperimenteerd, maar de opslagcapaciteit is vooralsnog beperkt. Ook de transportkosten (vanuit o.a. zee) zijn nog erg hoog. Een en ander pleit dus voor lokale energievoorzieningen. Maar wie wordt er enthousiast van het uitzicht op een windmolen in zijn achtertuin?. Alcohol en verkeer gaan niet samen, ook niet na het sporten. Studenten Rugby Club Thor uit Delft denkt er ook zo over en riep haar leden afgelopen april op om deel te nemen aan de online Bob-quiz. Een oproep die niet aan dovemans oren gericht was: de leden van SRC Thor hebben massaal meegedaan. En met resultaat: de vereniging heeft hiermee namelijk een super gave Bob-fiets gewonnen!

In order to welcome all the new students at the TU-Delft who will be starting their study. SRC Thor organizes FREE OPEN introduction trainings for six weeks long! The introduction trainings will start the first week of the Owee(18th until 22nd of August) and continue until the 19th of September.  The trainings will be every Tuesday and Thursday during these weeks from 18.00-19.30. These open trainings are meant for everyone. From people who have never touched a rugby ball before, to the more veteran players.
